FAQ’s

I’m trying to place an international order and we do not use a 5 digit zip code.  How can I buy tickets?

We’ve been in contact with Square’s support, and we should be able to accept international payment. A five digit zip code is required, but please see below for their instructions on what to use.

For ZIP code:
-If you are in a country that uses a 5 digit zip code, please use that for the transaction.
-If you are in a country that does not use a 5 digit zip code, please try five zeros (00000)
-If neither of the above work, please contact your bank/credit card issuer for the appropriate 5 digit code.

Again, thank you for your patience and please let us know if this was successful for you.

If it is not, please email us at commandstaff@rakurabase.org for *secondary* purchasing information. Please provide quantity requested of each ticket and we will reserve those tickets while payment details are sorted out.

How many tickets are available?

The room is limited to 200 guests.  Due to the issue above, we’ve withdrawn a portion of the stock to cover international guests.  Should domestic stock sell out, we will release available international stock back into the domestic pool with a prior update on the RL forum thread.

Do I need to be a member of the Rebel Legion to attend this dinner?

No. While many of the attendees will be members, you do not have to be a member to join in the festivities.

What’s family style dining?

The menu options for the meal are fixed, two appetizers, two salads, two pastas, two entrees, and two desserts (as described on the menu page), but each guest will be able to choose whichever dishes they would like and have as much as they would like.  The appetizers will be served on side tables during the Under the Tusken Suns – Cocktail Hour while the remainder of the dishes will be brought to each table during the Pasta & Power Converters – Dinner.  The food will be on serving platters to be passed around the table and the restaurant will bring more of any dish you’d like, so enjoy!

Are the tickets for an individual or the whole family?

While the type of dining is called “family style” and there are multiple choices of dishes for each course, the tickets are for each individual.

What about dietary restrictions or food allergies?

Maggiano’s is a full restaurant and makes all of their dishes from scratch on-site.  They will accommodate all special requirements on an individual basis as long as we give them advance notice.

What’s included?

  • A private dining room and attached private terrace
  • Soda, iced tea, hot tea, coffee, and water for the duration of the event
  • All-you-can-eat five course dinner as described on the menu page
    • The first course will be served during the cocktail hour and will be a chance to visit with new friends and old
    • The remaining four courses will be served at the table while everyone enjoys some much deserved time off their feet
  • After dinner, DJ Elliot will keep the party going with the Enchantment Under the Dune Sea – Dance Party!
  • A full cash bar will be available and include a few specialty drinks
  • Validated parking at the adjacent garage – no need to hunt for a parking space!
  • and… a SWAG bag!

Where can I park?

Pointe Orlando has a parking garage immediately adjacent to Maggiano’s and validation is included with the meal.

What if I’m not coming by car?

Maggiano’s is a ~10 minute walk from the convention center and is also easily accessible via taxi/Uber/etc.

Who is DJ Elliot?

For those familiar with Star Wars Weekends, he’s also known as DJ Lobot.  More can be seen at DJElliot.com.

Do we really have DJ Elliot doing the Rebel Legion dinner?

YES!  We’re really excited that he has graciously agreed to volunteer his time to put on a dance party for the whole galaxy to be proud of!

Will the dance party be in the same space as the dinner?

Yes, depending on how the room is arranged the staff may break down a few tables after dinner for the dance floor.  If so, those tables will be noted in advance.

Can I wear a costume?

Of course!  Maggiano’s has space where we can change if need.  There’s also limited space available for storage, so please contact us to make arrangements if needed.

What about tickets for young children?

Per Maggiano’s, children 5+ will be required to have a ticket (a child ticket is available up to 11 years old).  Children under 5 do not require a ticket, but will not be guaranteed a seat without one.

Will there be a fundraising component?

Ticket sales will simply cover costs for the event.  We’re still discussing options to include a charitable fundraising portion of the event.

Where is all of the money for the event going?

The vast majority of the cost, 78% of each ticket, pays for the venue/food/fees.  The remaining 22% covers equipment for the dance party, bartender, goodies, and decorations.

Lastly, who created that fantastic artwork for the invitation?

Our friend, acclaimed artist Derek Gores, generously donated the use of his artwork to us for this event. He even added a little *Rebel* twist to it for us!  To learn more about Derek, visit his website at DerekGores.com.
